Georgia Bhandari discovered kayaking on the Yarra River in Melbourne on an Outdoor Education trip at school.

 

Georgia has competed in freestyle kayaking since 1999 and was the Australian Freestyle Champion for four years. She has represented Australia and competed in the World Freestyle Championships in New Zealand, Spain, Austria and Australia as well as extreme races in New Zealand, Italy and Tasmania.

 

She has completed first descents in Nepal and Tibet and has also been a member of the women’s rafting team that won the Australian National Championships.

 

Georgia has worked in Italy, Norway, Nepal, Tibet, Canada, and America raft guiding, canoe/ kayak guiding, safety kayaking and instructing.

 

Her passion for travel is infectious. She has done many first descents with the longest being the first all Australian women’s descent of the Yukon River across the country of Alaska 2000 miles in a canoe!

 

She has undertaken a Bachelor of Arts in Outdoor Education, completed a Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment and a Diploma in Education in P – 12. She has worked in a variety of roles including; teaching Outdoor Education both in school and in the field, Tafe training at Diploma level and coordinating, guiding and facilitating Outdoor Education and Recreation programs in many locations and situations.

 

She now works part time as a Physical Education Teacher and part time as Marketing Manager for as Managing director as well Adventure Hub Nepal. Her roles also include liaising with international clients organising paperwork, overseeing AHN staff professional development and first aid training as well as supporting Ram in all his ventures!
